P U R I T Y (by georgianna lane)
It’s spring and flowers are blooming in the backyard. :) The apple tree is especially gorgeous, and the purple tree is emitting its familiar buzz as insects flock to its flowers.
i never thought it was such a bad little tree. it’s not bad at all, really. maybe it just needs a little love. (by stacey)
The work of Swedish designer Camilla Diedrich combines the structured with the organic, which is an aesthetic that always appeals to me. Her specialization seems to be wallpaper patterns and textile design with a focus on creating texture and surfaces with a sculptural quality.
My favorite by far is the Ray Charles wallpaper, especially the version that has the flowers on a translucent material which allows the pattern to be illuminated when a light is placed behind it. I’m not sure how practical it is in terms of individual consumer application—the commercial applications as illuminated accent walls and panels in the photos shown at the link are breathtaking—but I would love to have a small light box with this wallpaper hanging as a piece of art on my wall.
Paris Exposition: Eiffel Tower, Paris, France, 1900 (by Brooklyn Museum)
Absolutely breathtaking.
Look through the rest of the set as well; the retoucher went a little overboard with the color on some of the shots, but they’re beautiful overall.
The one other night shot is quite gorgeous as well.
I wish these were available in high resolution; I would totally put some on my wall as prints.
